About the Event

ree

Join us in person or on Zoom and hear Madison County Historian Matt Urtz talk about his new book, Historic Fires Madison of Madison County.

The book looks at damaging fires from throughout Madison County’s history— the mysterious burning of the Madison County Courthouse, the complete loss of business districts in both Canastota and Hamilton, and the arsonist who terrorized Cazenovia for nearly five years—and examines what happened and how it impacted the local community.

Urtz will talk about fires that didn’t make the book, but also have unique stories.

A Q&A and book signing will follow the presentation.
