Preserving the Mansion House
Preservation is a team effort that requires the support of members, donors, government, and private funders and involves preservation architects and contractors, staff, and volunteers all working together.
Preservation in Action:
Thanks to members, donors, and funders, OCMH is making tremendous progress on a critical and unprecedented historic preservation initiative to ensure the continuation of the Mansion House for generations to come! Oneida Community Mansion House’s Historic Preservation Team is completing Phase 1 of a multi-phase 10-year, $10 million project to preserve and protect the Mansion House. In addition to the regular maintenance and upkeep of a structure, stewards of historic buildings must repair features and systems to preserve the historic integrity of a building as well as to protect the interiors and collections.
OCMH's historic preservation goals are to save and care for the Mansion House so that it can stand as a testament to and tell the stories of the people who lived, worked, and played here, enabling future generations to "Experience Community" at the Mansion House for another 160 years and beyond!
